DESCRIPTION
Bed
The present invention is related to the home furnishing sector and refers specifically to a bed.
A bed is usually raised from the floor thanks to a lower support structure that can adopt different configurations. For example, bed structures consisting of four legs that support the entire weight of the bed are known and are the only element that performs structural function. This known configuration of lower support structure leaves open an open space for storage, which can be exploited by introducing other types of furniture of small dimensions such as drawers. However, it is difficult to find furniture that takes advantage of the maximum space between the legs, so the storage efficiency is minimal. In addition, the furniture and the space between the legs will hardly add up, so the aesthetic effect will be negative.
Another known configuration of lower bed support structures consists of a single-piece Integra structure that houses drawers. The structure itself houses storage drawers inside, while performing structural support function. This option cancels the versatility of the user by not offering any type of space customization without replacing the entire structure.
The present invention aims to solve the aforementioned problems of known beds and their lower support structures. More particularly, the present invention discloses a bed comprising a mattress base and a lower support structure that leaves the mattress base elevated relative to the floor, characterized in that the lower structure comprises a structural module that constitutes a structural element of the bed and which houses inside a closed storage space, said structural module occupying a surface smaller than the surface of the mattress base. In this way, the structural module provides a storage space fully adapted to the space available under the base of the mattress, providing aesthetics to the bed. On the other hand, since the structural module does not occupy the entire surface of the mattress base, it can be combined with other structural modules

or simply with legs. In fact, in one embodiment of the invention, the bed comprises a structural module and two legs.
In an embodiment of the invention, the structural module is arranged at one end of the bed and two legs are arranged at the opposite end to the end at which the structural module is arranged. With this distribution, the structural module performs the function that the two legs that would be located at its end would perform in the case of being the structure formed by four legs. In this way, the user also has free storage space between the module and the legs to place other furniture.
Optionally, the bed can comprise several structural modules that, together, occupy the entire surface of the mattress base. Preferably, the bed comprises two structural modules that, together, occupy the entire surface of the bed mattress base.
The structural modules provide closed storage spaces formed, for example, by one or more drawers that can be completely removable by a single opening movement.
In an embodiment of the invention the structural module comprises an open structural assembly that houses one or more drawers inside. Optionally, the structural assembly comprises two wall elements joined by cross-members, the structural assembly being able to comprise an upper cross-section on which the mattress base is supported and a lower cross-section on which a drawer is supported. Preferably, the structural assembly comprises two upper crosspieces on which the mattress base is supported, the upper cross members being arranged at both ends of the wall elements of the assembly optionally. Optionally, the lower cross member is arranged in the center of the structural wall elements.
The closed storage space of a structural module can also consist of a tray equipped with means for fixing a mechanism for folding a canape. Optionally, the cuvette comprises a base and four wall elements. The tray allows the mattress base located on the structural modules to be folded down so that access to the content of all the modules of the structure is facilitated. This is especially advantageous when there is no space to open the drawers of a module

structural in its entirety due to the small size of the room in which the bed is located.
In an embodiment of the invention, the bed comprises two structural modules, the first module comprising a drawer and the second module being a cuvette provided with fixing means of a folding mechanism of a canape. This embodiment reflects the convenience of being able to lower a mattress base to access, for example, the contents of the drawer of the other module.
For your best understanding, the present invention is described below based on some explanatory but not limiting drawings.
Figures 1 to 3 show perspective views of three different embodiments of the bed object of the present invention.
Figure 4 shows a perspective view of a first type of structural module for the bed object of the present invention.
Figures 5 and 6 show perspective views of the elements that form a second type of structural module for the bed object of the present invention.
As shown in Figure 1, the bed -1- comprises a lower support structure composed of two legs -10- at one end and a structural module with drawer -21- at the other end, both supporting the base -2 - for a mattress. The structural module, apart from providing a closed storage space defined by the drawer -21- and the base -2- for mattress, performs structural support functions of the base -2- for a mattress. As it is observed, the surface that occupies the structural module corresponds to half of the surface of the base -2- for mattress in this case.
Other embodiments of the invention consist of a bed -1- with a lower support structure composed of two structural modules that, together, occupy the entire surface of the base -2- for mattress, as seen in figures 2 and 3. In these two embodiments, the entire storage space under base -2- of the mattress is utilized by the structural modules. However, the size of the modules does not have to be equivalent, for example, the modules of Figure 2 are of different dimensions.

In the embodiment of Figure 2, the two structural modules comprise a drawer -21-. However, there is a possibility that the drawers -21- cannot be completely removed if there are space limitations in the room in which the bed -1- is located. For this reason, the embodiment of Figure 3 comprises a structural module consisting of a bucket -22- of folding canape, as seen in Figure 3.
The illustrated embodiments provide for two types of structural modules (see figures 4, 5 and 6). On the one hand, the simplest module is the module consisting of a cuvette -22-, that is, a closed compartment. The tray -22- is equipped with anchors -24- for fixing the folding mechanisms of the base -2- for the mattress, as shown in Figure 4. On the other hand, the module with drawer -21- It is composed of a structural assembly -23- (see figure 5) that serves as support for the base -2- of the mattress whose open design allows the sliding of a drawer -21- (see figure 6) inside. Both types of modules perform structural support functions of the base -2- of the mattress, thus allowing the removal of legs or other equivalent structural elements.
As can be seen in figure 4, the cuvette -22- is formed by four wall elements -26-, giving rise to a closed storage space together with the base -2- for mattress and a base -28-, leaving the base -2- for mattress supported by the edges -26'- of each of the wall elements -26-. The base -2- for mattress is joined to said edges -26'- by known fixing means, such as by means of eccentric and metal bolt assemblies, together with wooden spikes that prevent rotation between components.
Figures 5 and 6 show the details of the elements that make up a structural module with drawer -21-. The structural assembly -23- comprises two wall elements -29- joined by two upper crosspieces -25- at the ends and a lower crossbar -27- in the central part. The base -2- for mattress is supported on the upper crosspieces -25- and the base -21'- of the drawer -21- is supported on the lower crossbar -27-. The base -2- for mattress is joined to said upper crossings -25- by known fixing means, such as by means of eccentric and metal bolt assemblies, together with wooden spikes that prevent rotation between components. The base -21'- of the drawer -21- is surrounded by four wall elements -21 '' - to give rise to a closed storage space.
Although the invention has been presented and described with reference to embodiments thereof, it will be understood that these are not limiting of the invention, so that multiple constructive or other details that could be evident to the technicians of the sector could be variable after Interpret the subject matter disclosed in the present description, claims and drawings. Thus, all variants and equivalents will be included within the scope of the present invention if they can be considered to be within the broadest scope of the following claims.
